WENDLING, Jeffrey – of New Lothrop, age 57, died Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at Hurley Medical Center after a short battle with cancer. Honoring his wishes, cremation will take place and there will be no service at this time. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society in honor of Jeff.
Jeff was born on June 11, 1968, in Saginaw, to Joseph and Gayle (McGrandy) Wendling. He graduated from New Lothrop High School and attended Michigan Technological University. An avid sports fan, he loved cheering on the lions, the pistons, and the tigers, as well as the University of Michigan.
Later in life, he enjoyed keeping up with his garden, cooking for friends and family, and attending music festivals. In his younger years, Jeff lived in the upper peninsula. He loved spending time outdoors and going camping with his children. Jeff was known for his happy, easy-going nature and his deep love for his family. He treasured every opportunity to spend time with his children and grandchildren. Jeff will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Jeff is forever remembered by: Children: Kaylee Wendling, Shayne Wendling, Kristie Anderson; Grandchildren: Jordyn Wendling, Madison Redd, Brooklynn Redd, Blake Bailey, Ashton Bailey, and Olivia Schaefer; Mother, Gayle Wendling; Siblings: Annette (James) Sommers, Joelle (Jeffrey) Forbes, and Angela (Jeremy) Fox; Special Cousin: Jay McGrandy. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and wonderful friends. Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Joseph. |
