WELCH, Daniel Thomas – of Flint, MI, age 68, passed away Saturday, October 12, 2019. A Funeral Service will be held 6 PM Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Pastor Bruce Garner officiating. Cremation will take place following the service. The family will receive visitors 4-8 PM Monday, October 14, 2019 and 5-6 PM Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at Allen Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Genesee County, in Dan’s memory.
Dan was born in Detroit, MI on June 23, 1951, son of the late Verne and Virginia (Deyarmond) Welch. He was a graduate of Southwestern High School and then he earned a Master’s Degree from Eastern Michigan University. In 1985, Dan became the owner and operator of Packy’s Pizza. He enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, socializing, boating, entertaining his nieces and nephews and spoiling his daughter. Dan also adored his dogs, Rocky and Mac. Recently, he enjoyed spending his time at the IHOP. One of his favorite sayings was, “God is Love. Love is God”.
Dan is survived by his daughter, Cassie (Kevin) Sprague; 2 grandchildren, Pippa and Bowie; brother, Steve (Lorrie) Welch; sister, Becky (David) Dotson; many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Verne and Virginia Welch; brother-in-law, Marvin Haskins.
