MORNINGSTAR, Norma J. – of Burton, age 84, passed away November 12, 2017 at Melody Gardens Care Home. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Thursday, November 16, 2017 at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 8192 Davison Rd., Davison; Rev. Lindsey Carnes, Rev. Annie Duncan and Rev. Mark Morningstar co-officiating. Entombment will be in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 12-4 and 6-8 PM Wednesday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church. . A Memorial Service under the auspices of the Davison OES # 299 will be held 7 PM Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrews Presbyterian Church or the Alzheimer's Association.
Norma was born in Flint, MI on July 29, 1933, daughter of the late Rennie and Myrtle (McTavish) Wightman. She married Chester Morningstar in Flint, MI on March 14, 1953. Norma was a member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, a life member of Davison OES #299 and a charter member of Jobs Daughters – Davison. She was the perfect girlfriend, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. With two quick promotions at AC, she could have been anything she desired, but always wanted to be a stay at home mom and she was the best.
Norma is survived by her husband of 64 years, Chester Morningstar; children, Mark (Cynthia) Morningstar, Craig (Diane) Morningstar, Jon (Jennifer) Morningstar; grandchildren, Amanda Morningstar, Beth ( Matt) Binder, Jill Morningstar, Emily Morningstar, Lisa (Sam) Gairhan, Joshua (Arminda) Morningstar, Jessica Morningstar; great grandchildren, Owen, Gavin and Nathan; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Jordan in 2015; sister, Helen Sparks; brothers, Albert and Donald Wightman.
