Schneberger, Marlene Foley – of Grand Blanc, Age 87, died Friday, December 5, 2025, at Vicinia Gardens in Fenton.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at St. John the Evangelist Church Chapel, 600 N. Adelaide, Fenton, Father Robert Copeland officiating.

Visitation 4-7 pm Friday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Visitation at 10 am Saturday at the church until the time of the Mass.
Burial in the New Calvery Catholic Cemetery.

Marlene was born in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, on April 19, 1938, and raised in Flint. She is the daughter of the late Robert and Genevieve (Harbin) Schlegel. She is a graduate of Northern High School in Flint, has a degree in Education from Michigan State University and worked for Flint Public Schools before having children. She was married to John Foley for 32 years and was his caregiver until his death from ALS complications in 1993. She was a long-time member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. She was a member of the Junior League of Flint, a Girl Scout troop leader and volunteered at the Grand Blanc Senior Center during tax season. Marlene and her second husband Jerry Schneberger were married for 28 years. They traveled extensively and enjoyed time with family and friends. Jerry was a devoted caregiver to Marlene throughout her years with Multiple Sclerosis. Marlene was known for sharp wit, creative spirit and relentless determination and courage.
Surviving are her husband Gerald Schneberger; daughters, Mary (Kevin) Billingsley, Ann (Brett) Bakker, Christine (Fergus) Carroll; and stepchildren Louise Schneberger, Steven Schneberger, Greg Schneberger, Keli (Shaun Smith) Schneberger and Janet Schneberger; grandchildren Jack Billingsley, Kate Billingsley, Claire Carroll, Brittney Vaughn, Angie Wagner, Maia Polemitis, Camlan Smith, Matthew Schneberger, Brynn Schneberger, Zain Smith and Landon Schneberger; sister Vicki NeSmith; nieces and nephew.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, John Foley and stepson David Schneberger.
The family shares special appreciation to Debi Jackson and the “girls” at Vicinia Gardens.
