BRIODY, Raymond Nelson – Of Grand Blanc, age 84, died Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Genesys Regional Medical Center.
Funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Sunday, June 3, 2018 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Reverend Maurice Horne officiating.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. Sunday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Raymond was born in Flint, Michigan on December 16, 1933, the son of the late Samuel and Matilda (Kerr) Briody.
He graduated from Kearsley High School in 1953.
He spent 4 proud years in the U.S. Marine Corps.
On August 20, 1960 he married Jacqueline Wixson in Davison.
Mr. Briody was employed by General Motors for 40 years.
He loved going to Hubbard Lake, motorcycling, water skiing and teaching younger kids how to have fun. He enjoyed going up north to hunt and fish.
Surviving are wife, Jacqueline Briody (Wixson);
son, David (Dolores) Briody;
grandsons, Triston and Steven;
brothers, Paul (Sue), Jim (Margot) Briody;
sisters, Joyce Pero, Betty Satchfield and Dolores (Tom) LeGalley;
sister-in-law, Glenna Hobbs;
brother-in-law, Ron Wixson;
several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kimberly Briody; sisters, Irene McCann, Ruby Shaw-Putman and Inez Long.
