LANGDON, Theodore - Of Davison, age 96, died peacefully on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at McLaren Hospital Flint.

Cremation has taken place. A private service will be conducted at a later date.

Theodore was born in Owosso, Michigan on March 28, 1929, the son of the late William and Lula(Sewell)Langdon.

On August 29, 1947 he married Marilyn Parkinson in Owosso. Known to all as “Ted” with his signature cowboy hat, boots and handle-bar mustache. As a young boy he was a pin setter. He enlisted in the United States Navy, serving, May of 1946 through March of 1948 on a minesweeper ship.

One of his most recent and cherished trips was visiting family in Hawaii and touring Pearl Harbor. He was a member of UAW Local 598 working for General Motors from February of 1949 until retirement in September of 1980, after 31 years of service. Ted and Marilyn enjoyed camping and RVing travels to California, Colorado, and Arizonia. No curve was too sharp for his driving skills! And he would tell you, he could back the trailer into any space, even if it was clearly too tight or hanging over a cliff. Ted could do it! Ted loved antiquing and found value in things even if others didn’t. He enjoyed auctions and garage sales. He always looked for a bargain, unless he was the seller. Canadian Mist Whisky, black licorice, star mints, peanuts and cashews were his go to snacks and beverage of choice. He was an avid 10-pin bowler, enjoying his senior league friends. Ted enjoyed fishing especially his trips to Canada. He was a member of the NRA and could still shoot a bullseye. For several years he participated in lawn bowling and maintained the greens at Pierce Park in Flint. He participated in the Flint Canusa and Flint Senior Games for lawn bowling, including a few trips to Canada. One of his favorite pastimes were watching old Westerns and U.S. Figure Skating.

Over the years, with all his activities, he enjoyed many wonderful friendships. Because he hated the snow, Ted and Marilyn moved to Cottonwood, AZ in retirement to soak up the sun. They returned to Michigan in their super senior years to be closer to family. Ted tolerated the snow but not without complaint.

Ted lived a very active life. He cherished his family. He had a special banter with his wife Marilyn that kept their marriage strong. Together they raised three children and cared for many cats, dogs, cows, pigs, chickens, rabbits, and horses.

A great joy of his was watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow. He touched a lot of lives and is dearly missed by many.

Surviving are children, Mick (Julie) Langdon of Mount Morris and Dawn (Chris) Morgan of Davison;

grandchildren, Bryan Langdon, Bethany Langdon, and Reverend Monica (Andy) Wardell;

great-grandchildren, Evan Thorn, McKenzie Thorn, Austin Langdon, Logan Langdon, Lacey Lane, Jackson Lane, Natalie Lane, Nolan Lane, Christophe Wardell and arriving soon, Joseph Wardell.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn and daughter Roberta Langdon
