ENGLAND, Rex Dewight – of Clio, age 77, passed away Saturday, October 17, 2020 after a long battle with cancer. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, October 23, 2020 at Messiah Lutheran Church. Vicar Adam Flanick officiating. The family will receive visitors on Thursday, October 22, 2020 from 4:00 Pm to 8:00 PM and on Friday from 10:00 AM until time of service at Messiah Lutheran Church. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or Messiah Lutheran Church.
Rex was born May 21, 1943 in Mullens, West Virginia to the late Oscar and Mary (Barnes) England. He moved to Flint, Michigan to work for General Motors in 1966. In 1968, he married the love of his life, Donna Marie Ogg and was happily married for 51 years. He retired from General Motors Buick in 2001 after 36 years. He spent many of his days working carpentry and refinishing furniture. When he wasn’t doing that, he was spending time with his family. He was someone that family and friends could always count on. Rex has a smile and a laugh that could light up any room in any situation. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Clio, Michigan.
Surviving are: Wife, Donna England; Children, Lisa (David) Dobias, Christina (Richard) Mayville, Brian England; He was a grandfather to, Nicholas (Rae Ann) Boggs, Ryan (Christine) Boggs, Brittani (James) Desrochers, Rick (Samantha) Mayville, Jeremy (Ashley) Mayville, Aaron Bagwell, Jordan (Jennifer) Bagwell, Allie (Tyler) Huffman, Andrew England, Gavin England, and was a Great Grandfather to 15. Rex is also survived by three Brothers, Ernest England, Ronnie (Fonda) England, Boyd (Rita) England; Sister, Sandra (Gene) McKenzie; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Mary England; Brother, Conley England; Sister, Neicha Spiller.
