LOPEZ, Esperanza – Of Davison, age 84, died Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at The Oaks at Woodfield.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, May 25, 2018 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 2316 West Coldwater Road, Flint, Father Tim Nelson officiating.
Burial in Meadowview Memorial Gardens.
Those desiring may make contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
Visitation 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. Thursday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. A Rosary will be prayed by Father Paul Donnelly at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Lopez will be at the church from 10 a.m. Friday until the time of the Mass.
Esperanza was born in Rancho Viego, Adjuntas Del Rufio, Monte Escobedo, Zacatecas on August 18, 1933, the daughter of Alfredo and Maria Guadalupe De La Torre.
She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church.
Mrs. Lopez retired from GM after 22 years of service.
Surviving are children, Armando Lopez,
Yolanda (Robert) Farmer,
Diane (Gregory) Tankersley,
Richardo (Florence Ann) Lopez,
Sylvia Cousineau;
13 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren;
brothers, Alfredo, Roberto, Raul and Ruben De La Torre,
and many cousins and friends from Mexico.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilberto “Beto” Lopez; parents, Alfredo and Maria Guadalupe De La Torre, and grandson, Richard Lopez II.
