LITTLE, Yvonne Joy - Of Flint, age 85, died Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Mission Point of Holly.
A memorial service will be held 2pm Saturday, October 7, 2023 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Dr. Max B. Hayden officiating.
Cremation has taken place.
Visitation 12noon Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Yvonne was born in Baldknob, Arkansas on May 7, 1938, the daughter of the late Robert and Frances (Gordon) James where she grew up on a farm. On June 9, 1956, she married Jack Don Little at her parent’s home. Shortly after their son, Stephen, was born, the family moved to Flint so Jack could work in the auto industry. They built a nice home and raised their family in Holly. Yvonne liked to sew, crochet, play spades, watch golf on TV and drink a beer on occasion. She was also an animal lover. She worked several jobs over the years; waitress, cashier, factory worker, union steward, janitorial services, food preparation and child care. Above all else, Yvonne was a wonderful and caring mother and grandmother.
Surviving are son, Stephen C. (Lori) Little, Cynthia Y. (Larry) Powers;
grandchildren, Catherine (James) Bower, Joseph Little, Daniel Little, Lindsay Powers, Shelby Powers, Stephen Little, Jamie Little, Jessica Little, Ian (Krysten) Little, Mark Little, Christopher Little, Eric Little and Shyan Boyce;
great-grandchildren, Rachel, Cayli, Adam, Ben, Charlotte, Elizabeth, Max, Kayla, Gavyn, Bradley, Madylin, JJ, Emmalyn, Addylin and Mark;
great-great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Nova and Marielynn;
brother, Glenn (Orene) James and sister, Melda Ross;
and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jack D. Little, son, Mark, granddaughter, Jennifer, and siblings, Robert Lee Jr. and RL, Almeda and Lora.
