JONES, David L - age 66 of Flushing, died February 24, 2024. Funeral services will be held 11 AM March 1, 2024, at North Flushing Baptist Church, 7500 Mount Morris Rd, Flushing Twp, MI 48433 with Pastor Josh Corbin officiating. Interment will be held at Flint Memorial Park. Visitation will be held 2-8 PM Thursday, February 29, 2024, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, MI 48473 and from 10 AM - 11 AM Friday, March 1, 2024, at the church. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to North Flushing Baptist Church, 7500 Mount Morris Rd, Flushing Twp, MI 48433. David was born May 1, 1957, in Flint, the son of Darwin L. and Nancy A. (Taylor) Jones. He married Denise Hurlburt in 1981. David retried from General Motors in 2019 after 42 years of service as a skilled trade Tool Maker and Electrician. He was a member of North Flushing Baptist Church. David was a devoted family man, husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed yearly camping trips with his family, coached AYSO soccer for over 30 years and coached all 5 of his children's teams. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing with his sons, brothers, brothers-in-law, father and father-in-law. Surviving are: wife, Denise Jones; five children, Rae (Nick) Boggs, David Jones, Jeffrey Jones and girlfriend, Tamara, Christopher (Emily) Jones, and Julia Jones; grandchildren, Ashley, Andrew (Amy), David, Benjamin, Gabriel, Samuel, Abigail, Lucas, Madeline, Credence, Archer, Hunter, William, and Ainsley; and expecting his first great-grandchild; three siblings, Ann Lambert, Bob Jones, and Jennifer Wylie; brother-in-law and best friend, Bill Wylie; many brothers and sisters-in-law, other family members and host of close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John and Tom; father-in-law, Leslie Hurlburt; and two unborn children. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com |
