John Leonard Gasper, of New Lothrop, passed away on August 8, 2026 at Covenant Medical Canter Cooper, at the age of 67.
John was born on February 8, 1959 in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Joe and Margaret (Maxa) Gasper. He attended Chesaning Schools, and graduated in 1978. He started dating Debra Lynn Lare, on December 2, 1989. They spent almost 40 years, creating a life of love and companionship.
John was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Chesaning. He greatly enjoyed working the fish fry's in the fall with his fellow knights. He had a knack for woodworking and could make anything you could think of. You could also find him gardening in the summer, cooking, and spending time at the KC hall. Most of all, he loved his family and being a grandpa to his 3 granddaughters.
John is survived by his wife, Deb Gasper; children, Michael (Sarah Johnson) Gasper and Abigail (Abbie) Gasper; granddaughters, Brynnleigh Lynn, Charlie Irene, and Oakley Ann; his fur babies, Sasha, Sammy, and George; his siblings, Will (Patti) Gasper, Lois Gasper, Tim Gasper, Patty Gasper, and Dennis Gasper; special nephew who has helped care for John, Kyle Lare. He was preceded in death by his brother, Bernie Gasper.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Cindy and Dennis Horton for being a tremendous help through this difficult time, and to Deb's best friend, Jones, and their rock, John Johnson.
A Celebration of John's life will take place in the afternoon, on October 17, 2026, at Michael's house: 8499 Easton Rd., New Lothrop, MI 48460 |
