Brenda Jasso, age 78, of Clarkston, Michigan (recently of Imlay City), died Monday, September 1, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Brenda Gail York was born September 27, 1946 in Rockwood, Tennessee. She is the daughter of the late Lonnie and the late Willie Mae (Hinch) York. Brenda grew up in the Troy, MI. She married John Jasso on January 16, 1965 in Ferndale, Michigan. Brenda York Jasso is a graduate of Troy High School, Class of 1965. Brenda and John have lived in Troy, Clasrkston (for 40 years) and Skidway Lake, MI (for 12 years).
She was mostly a homemaker, raising her family. Through the years, Brenda was employed as a childcare worker, a caregiver at a nursing home and owned her own craft business. Brenda loved to make all sorts of crafts and baking specialty cakes.
She is survived by: her husband, John Jasso of Imlay City, MI; daughter, Wendy (Michael) Bell of Imlay City, MI; her sisters, Donna Fons of Waterford, MI and Debbie (Jim) Van Dyke of Utica, MI; and her brother, Lonnie "Buster" Jr. (Janice) York of Roseville, MI. She is also survived by: grandchildren, John R. Jasso of Flint, MI, Jacob R. Jasso of Ortonville, MI and Joshua R. Jasso of Ortonville, MI; great - grandchildren, Alizaiah Amber Barbara Dunn and Jaliyah Leeann Dunn; her sister-in-law, Katherine Thompson of Yale, MI; and brother-in-law, James (Janet) Jasso of Dayton , TN.
Brenda was preceded in death by: her parents, Lonnie & Willie Mae York; son, John Lonnie Jasso; her infant son, Jesse Jasso; daughter, Heidi Margaret Jasso; grand-daughter, Amber Gail Bell; and brother-in-law, Joseph Fons.
A memorial service will be held 11:30 am Saturday, September 13, 2025 at the Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI. The family will be available for visiting hours from 10:00 am until 11:30 am Saturday, September 13th at the Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City.
