David "Dave" George Moore, age 71 of Chesaning, died on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at his home.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, December 30, 2023 at McGeehan Funeral Homes - Martin Chapel. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Friday, December 29 at the funeral home.
Dave was born on July 30, 1952 to Phillip and Betty (Ralston) Moore in Flint, Michigan. He graduated from New Lothrop High School with the class of 1970. Dave then married the love of his life, Catherine Straty, on February 14, 1997. They shared 26 years of marriage together.
During his life, Dave worked for General Motors for 12 years and at Hehr/Lippert for over 30 years. In his younger years, Dave loved to play sports and was an incredible athlete. He enjoyed playing golf, Playing cribbage with his friends, hunting and fishing and watching football as well as his Westerns. Most of all, Dave loved to attend his grandchildren's school events and cheering them on.
Left to cherish Dave's memory is his wife, Catherine; children, Steve (Erin) Moore, Chad (Kendra) Moore, Jeremy (Kate) Moore, David (Heather) Moore; stepchildren, Michael (Alona) Megill, Trisha (Areal) Straty, Stanley (Angela) Lanczynski, Carrie (Jim) MacDonald; grandchildren, Alexandra, Gavin, Olivia, Avery, Taylor, Morgan, Lucas; step-grandchildren, Matthew, Christian, David, Gabriel, Jordan, James, Carolyne, and Savannah; siblings, Diane Moore, Carol (Edward) Cassidy, Patricia (Jeffery) Carlton; in-laws, Dan Straty, Theresa Sleaman, Sue Schempp, Pat Stover, and Liz Leggitt; as well as many nieces and nephews and other loving family and friends.
Dave is preceded in death by his parents, and mother-in-law, Elda Straty.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the wishes of the family.
