BISSONNETTE, JOHN – Of Grand Blanc, age 70, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 31, 2026. John leaves behind his devoted partner of 20 years and husband, Craig Justice.
Funeral service will be held at 1pm on Friday, June 5, 2026, at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Visitation will be held from 4-8pm on Thursday, June 4, 2026, and at 11am Friday, until the service at the funeral home.
John grew up in the local community, graduated from Beecher High School before pursuing an engineering degree at the General Motors Institute. John later pivoted to finance, earning a BA degree from University of Michigan and achieving his credential as Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
He worked at Dupree and Ryden, where his warmth and integrity earned him deep, lifelong friendships with his colleagues. Guided by an entrepreneurial spirit, he later established his own firm, Bissonnette and Associates, in downtown Fint. As a business owner, John prided himself on working with excellence, integrity, and consistently provided his clients with the highest quality of care and personal attention.
Outside of his career, John found great joy in staying active and was beginning to enjoy traveling again. He regularly enjoyed exercising, taking long walks, and sharing meaningful time with those he loved. John’s commitment to his clients, his friends, and his family will be long remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
John is survived by 3 brothers, James (Becky)Bissonnette, Paul (Eva) Bissonnette and Michael (Tracy) Bissonnette; loving nieces, nephews, other family members and good friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerome and Lucille (Lahar)Bissonnette, 1 brother, Jerome (Gloria) Bissonnette, 5 sisters, Ruth (Robert) Marshall, Theresa Bissonnette, Rosemary (Russell) Olsey, Linda (Wayne) Olson and Paula Bissonnette.
