BAILEY, JoEllen – of Burton, age 82, the beloved matriarch of her family, passed peacefully into the arms of her Heavenly Father, surrounded by her loving daughters, on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at McLaren Oakland in Pontiac, MI. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, November 14, 2025, at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI, 48423, Pastor Rex Odglen officiating. Interment will take place 1 PM on Saturday, November 15, 2025, in Sherman Twp. Cemetery in Tustin, MI. The family will receive visitors on Thursday from 3-7 PM and Friday from 10 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
JoEllen was born in Pontiac, MI on August 30, 1943, daughter of the late Kenneth and Mary (Bond) Dye. JoEllen graduated from Waterford Twp. High School in 1961. She married Melvin Pointer and from that marriage she was blessed with her three daughters. JoEllen then married Michael Bailey on July 3, 1980, in Holly, MI. He preceded her in death on March 18, 2000. JoEllen loved to host family and friends at “The Barn” where there was always fresh homemade bread and a game of cards. JoEllen spent many winters in Arizona where she enjoyed driving ladies to BINGO and cooking for luncheons at High Chaparral Park. She will long be remembered for her quick wit, spicey personality and her generosity to others.
JoEllen is survived by children, Tammie Allen, Melvina (David) Lightfoot, Mary (Frank) Imbrunone, and Kenneth Bailey; grandchildren, Caroline (Tyler), Madison (Steve), Brandon (Laurin), Emily, Seth (Alyssa), Hannah (John), Max, Leah (Aiden), Vincent, Logan, Rachel, Sam, Sara (Jacob), Natalie, Julia, Joseph, Anthony, and Veronica; great-grandchildren, Norah, Leon, Austin, Cooper, Judah, Adaline, and Sadie; nieces and nephews, Deb (Harry), Steven (Cindy), Mark (Lori), Dan (Merrylie), Tim (Kathy), Jenny (Gordon), and Jill (Rich); many other loving family members and friends. In addition to her parents and her husband, JoEllen was preceded in death by her sisters, Donna (John) Cameron and Susan (Bob) Spencer.
