Tyler Kopydlowski, 34, passed away on June 7, 2025 at his residence in Chicago, Illinois. He was born on October 7, 1990 in Flint, Michigan to Jim and Lydia (Wieber) Kopydlowski of Goodrich, Michigan. He is survived by both his parents, brother, Dr. Nathan (Dr. Amanda) Kopydlowski of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and sister, Hannah (Arpit) Patel of McLean, Virginia. He adored his two nieces, Layla and Elyse, his godchild, who affectionally referred to him as Uncle T. He was also a pet parent to his beloved retriever, Charlie Bear. He is survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Veronica Kopydlowski and Frank, Jr. and Lenore Wieber.
Tyler was a graduate of Powers Catholic High School, Class of 2009, where he played football
and lacrosse. He graduated from Trine University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Design Engineering Technology, where he also played football and was on the winning team of 3 MIAA championships. He then went on to Indiana University, Kelly School of Business, where he graduated in 2017 with a Master’s Degree in Business Administration.
After graduation, Tyler worked at BAE Systems as a Project Manager. From there, he went to A.T. Kearney where he worked in the Public Sector and Defense Services Division as a Management Consultant. He then moved to aPriori, where he also worked as a Management Consultant. A few years back, he decided to make a career change and enrolled at DePaul University in Chicago to pursue a Master’s Degree in Nursing.
Tyler enjoyed traveling the world, having just completed a study abroad in Prague and Budapest in December 2024. He enjoyed all sports, especially football, golf, biking, and running. He ran the Chicago Marathon in October 2024 and competed in a Half Iron Man in Maine in 2018. He was an avid University of Michigan and Detroit Lions football fan. He enjoyed cooking, and was really good at it.
Tyler adored his nieces and spent as much time with them as he could. He loved being with family. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mark the Evangelist Church in Goodrich on Saturday, June 21 at 11:00 a.m. The celebrant, Fr. Michael Kuchar, is a friend of the family. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until the time of Mass. Interment will follow at Goodrich Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Village Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
