ROSS, Helen – of Otisville, age 98, was called home by her loving Savior Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Charter Senior Living of Davison. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, MI 48423; Pastor Mike Halliburton officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Smith-Hill Cemetery in Otisville, MI. The family will welcome visitors from 4-7 PM Wednesday, April 15, 2026. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Davison or McLaren Hospice, in Helen’s memory.
Helen was born in Flint on February 18, 1928, daughter of the late Earl and Eunice (Lang) Richards. She married Robert Ross on February 19, 1949, in Davison. He preceded her in death on February 2, 2009. Helen was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church. She retired from LakeVille Community Schools as a high school secretary. In her younger years, she and Bob were hard working farmers and in their spare time they enjoyed camping. Helen was a wonderful cook and baker. She enjoyed sewing and tending to her vegetable and flower gardens. Her greatest joy was found in spending time with her family, who will deeply miss her.
Helen is survived by her loving children, James (Joan) Ross and Jane (Robert) Carpenter; 4 grandchildren, Erin Ross, Corinne (Bruce) Cable, Casey (Jody) Carpenter, and Carrie Dicks; 8 great-children; brother, Gerald (Barbara) Richards; and many other loving family members and friends. In addition to her parents and her husband, Helen was preceded in death by a sister, Beatrice Messmore.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Charter Senior Living of Davison and McLaren Hospice for their loving care during Helen’s final days.
