Kenneth W. Richardson, 88, passed away unexpectedly on May 27, 2026, in Anderson, Indiana, surrounded by his beloved wife and daughter.
Kenneth was born on February 6, 1938, in Booneville, Mississippi, to Eleanor Lambert Richardson and Horace Richardson. He was raised with a strong work ethic and deep sense of family that would guide him throughout his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Yvonne Kerek, and his daughter, Tamara Richardson.
After graduating from high school in Davison, Michigan, in 1956, Kenneth began an apprenticeship as a tinsmith with AC Delco. Over the course of a distinguished 35-year career, he worked as both a skilled tinsmith and supervisor, earning the respect of colleagues through his dedication, craftsmanship, and leadership.
Kenneth was a Master Mason and a proud member of the Michigan Committee of Safety. He possessed a lifelong curiosity about the world and loved to travel, collecting countless adventures and experiences along the way. Whether recounting stories from his travels or sharing lessons learned through a lifetime of hard work, he was never at a loss for an interesting tale and was cherished for his engaging conversation and wisdom.
On November 15, 1958, Kenneth married the love of his life, Mary Fortune. Together they shared 67 wonderful years of marriage filled with adventure, devotion, and companionship. They were inseparable partners who built a life centered on family, faithfulness, and mutual love.
Kenneth enjoyed woodworking, snowmobiling, and tackling just about any project that came his way. A true jack of all trades, there seemed to be little he could not build, repair, or figure out. More importantly, he was an intensely dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose love and support touched generations of his family.
Those who knew Kenneth knew a man of strength, integrity, generosity, and unwavering commitment to others. He was loved by all who knew him and served as a pillar of support, guidance, and friendship throughout his life.
Kenneth is survived by his devoted wife, Mary Richardson; his daughter, Andrea Kidd; his grandson, Joseph and wife Hayley Kidd; and his great-grandchildren, Ireland, Poppy, and Leo.
In accordance with Kenneth's wishes, no formal services are planned. Family and friends interested in attending a memorial gathering are encouraged to contact Mary or Andrea for additional information.
