TATE, Mary Victoria Lynn (Spencer) "Vicki" - Age 73, of Lennon, passed away Friday, March 22, 2024. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, March 28, 2024 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek (The service will be live streamed and can be viewed via the link on Mrs. Tate's obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com). Dr. Terry Clees officiating. Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Wednesday from 4-8 PM and Thursday from 12 PM until the time of the service. Those desiring may make contribution to Veterans Crisis Line.
Vicki was born October 29, 1950 in South Haven, the daughter of Frank and Jewel (Martin) Spencer. She attended Carman High School and she received a Bachelor's Degree and Master Degree in Social Work from Michigan State University. She married Dennis Dale Tate December 9, 1968 in Flint. Vicki had resided in Lennon since 2015 coming from Tallahassee, FL/Gaines. She retired from the Veterans Administration in Tallahassee, FL as a social worker. She enjoyed crocheting, playing scrabble and playing video games with her grandchildren and her niece, Starla.
Surviving are: her husband, Dennis; son, Sky (Sally) Tate of Harrison Township; daughter, Faithann Tate of Owosso; grandchildren, Cameron Tate of Florida, Zachary (Sasha) Tate of Burton, Tylor (Ashley Filippi)Tate of Waterford, Madison (Matthew Nevells) Tate of Williamston and Noah Tate of Lansing; great granddaughters, Rose and Keyara; sister, Cher Nielsen of Swartz Creek; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Frank Spencer, Jr.; and sister, Sandy McConnell Keen. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. |
