RANCOURT, Joyce Ann – of Clio, age 87, passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family. Honoring her wishes, cremation will take place. A private family service will be held at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Neurofibromatosis Foundation, St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Mt. Morris or McLaren Hospice.
Joyce was born February 21, 1933 in Pinconning, Michigan to the late Charles and Phoebe (Reno) Bowsher. She grew up in Pinconning and graduated from St. Michael’s Catholic High School with the Class of 1951. A few days after graduation, she married Vance L. Rancourt on June 18, 1951 in Pinconning, he sadly passed away on July 5, 2016. Joyce and Vance lived in Pinconning for their first few years of marriage. They moved to the Clio area in 1955 where they would make their home and raise their family. Joyce was a wonderful homemaker, wife and mother. She was a longtime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. When she wasn’t taking care of her family, one of Joyce’s favorite things to do was to just sit down and read a good book. Most important to Joyce was her family, she dearly loved the time she could spend with her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving are: her beloved children Vance (Michelle) Rancourt of Mt. Morris, Michelle (Roger) Gauthier of Clio, LeeAnn (Kris) Peltonen of Clio and Cynthia (Michael) Blake of Swartz Creek; cherished grandchildren Jeremy Gauthier, Jason (Nicole) Gauthier, Ashley (Justin) Grizzle, Jake (Jessie) Rancourt, Kristen (Seth) Klempner, Anthony (Cassie) Blake, Randi (Jarrod) Cherwinski and 9 great grandchildren; also survived by her sister in law Tolly Bowsher and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Vance, her parents Charles and Phoebe, siblings Marvin, Lee, Charles, Robert and Dorothy.
