LESZKO, Barbara H. - Of Grand Blanc, age 90, died Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Abby Park Assisted Living.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11am Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1227 East Bristol Road, Burton,
Father Steve Anderson officiating.
Burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to Heart to Heart Hospice.
Visitation 2-8pm Monday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. A Rosary will be prayed 7pm Monday evening at the funeral home. Visitation 10am Tuesday at the church until the time of the Mass.
Barbara was born in Detroit on September 25, 1924, the daughter of the late Stanley and Mary (Schaeffer) Leszko. She retired from Wayne County as an Executive Secretary in the Probate Court. Barbara was a great contributor to the preservation and care of The Animal Kingdom. She was an avid volunteer, including during World War II, where she made parachutes. Barbara had a great sense of humor and made people laugh. Barbara had her own Facebook account that she started at age 90.
Surviving are cousins, Wally (Faye) Morgan, Paul (Sandi) Schaeffer, Harry (Jean) Schaeffer, Walt (Rosa) Schaeffer, Phyllis (Bill) Daily and Jack Baucus;
along with a host of other special cousins and friends, especially
Caring from the Heart who became family to us. A special thank you to Meredith, Renee, Courtney, Haylee, Amanda, Sarah, Connie and Wendy and Lisa, Andi, Sharon and the entire staff at Heart to Heart Hospice.
Barbara was also preceded in death by sister, Adeline (Alfred) Weisenhofer and special cousin, Carolyn Baucus.
