STEIBEL, Laura Suzanne “Lollie” – Of Linden, age 84, passed into the arms of her Lord on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at Genesys Regional Medical Center.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church 1523 North Oak Road, Davison, The Reverend Sue Colavincenzo officiating.

Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church Memorial Fund.

Visitation 1-3 p.m and 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. Mrs. Steibel will be at the church from 1 p.m Wednesday until the time of the service.

Lollie was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on July 29, 1929, daughter of the late Earl and Ruth Hammond.

Laura married Donald Steibel on November 3, 1951 in Grand Rapids.

Lollie graduated from McKenzie High School in Detroit Class of 1945 and attended Davenport Business School.

She was a devoted and active member of St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church and former member of Christ Episcopal Church. She was involved in vacation Bible School, the youth group, and Episcopal Church Women at Christ Episcopal Church and the Diocese of Michigan and the Adult Education at St. Dunstan’s Church.

Her faith was very important in her life.

She was very involved in her children’s school activities, music boosters and athletic boosters.

Lollie was very proud of her sons and treasured her grandchildren and adored her great-grandchildren.

She was very creative and active in the Flint Community Players and the Flint Ballet Theatre. She loved camping, enjoyed traveling from the Arctic Circle to Mexico, Hawaii to the Virgin Islands, reading, crocheting and knitting.

Lollie was always there to give a helping hand.

Surviving are husband, Donald;

Three sons: Michael and wife Denise of Fenton,
Kenneth and wife Linda of Linden,
Brian and wife Nora of Flint;

Ten grandchildren: Ann and husband Chad Ruhala of Senoia, GA,
Michael Steibel of Lansing,
Jeffrey Steibel of Atlanta, GA,
Jennifer and husband Andre’ McMahon of Macon, GA,
Kimberly and husband Robert Miller of Acworth, GA,
Emily and husband Dane Brown of Fenton,
Matthew and wife Julie Steibel of Grand Rapids,
Kelly Steibel of Grand Blanc,
Matthew Steibel and Jenna Parsons of Midland and
Kyle Steibel of Plymouth, MI;

Six great-grandchildren: Paige and Kate Ruhala, Emma and Haley Miller, Wyatt Brown and Maelea Steibel;

various cousins and many special friends.
