BALDWIN, Donna Gean (Withey), of Flint Twp., age 73, died peacefully, August 18, 2011 at her daughter’s home. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Tuesday at the Plumb-Smith Funeral Home, Pastor Kevin Spencer officiating. Luncheon will follow the service at Dayton Heights Community Church. Cremation will occur with final interment in Gracelawn Cemetery. Donna will lie in state at the Plumb-Smith Funeral Home, G-1208 N. Ballenger Hwy., Flint Township, where friends may call 3-8 PM Sunday and 10AM-8PM Monday. Donna was born in Flint Township, October 1, 1937, the daughter of Guy and Edith (Innes) Withey. She graduated from Hoover High School in 1960 and received her associate’s degree in Social Work from Jordan College in 1994. She was married to the late Vernon Bryan, Charles Moore, and Leonard Baldwin. She was an active member of Dayton Heights Community Church. Donna worked as a social worker at the WYCA, and as a day care provider at Happy Elephant. She volunteered at the Flint Township Senior Center preparing tax returns for seniors. She would help many people who stopped at her doorstep for a place to sleep. Surviving are: five children, Geanine and Carl Minton of North Branch, Kenneth Bryan of Flint, Daniel July of Flint, Joseph and Mary Moore of Mt. Morris, and Christopher and Cindy Baldwin of Flint; 17 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; seven siblings, Alice, Harold, Guy, Marie, Bob, David, and Sandy. A special thanks to Avalon Hospice for all their kind, friendly service to Donna and her family during this difficult time. |
