STEEL, Jean Elizabeth – of Clio, age 94, died Monday, December 7, 2015, at Maple Woods Manor. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Thursday, December 10, 2015, at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Vicar JohnDavid Zischke officiating. Cremation to follow with inurnment at Great Lakes National Cemetery at a late date. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 10 AM until the time of services at 11 AM. Contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
Jean was born November 20, 1921, in Flint to the late Clarence and Mary (Lerg) Beckwith. She lived in Saginaw, retired to Harrison then moved to Clio the past 5 years. She married Paul Steel on October 7, 1940. He preceded her in death on March 12, 2008. Mrs. Steel was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Clio. She was a charter member of the Harrison Moose Lodge, a member of the VFW Ladies Auxilary and the American Legion in Harrison. She enjoyed snowmobiling, dancing and being with her grandchildren.
Surviving are: Daughter, Carolyn (Chuck) Bentley of Clio; Grandchildren: Laurie (Randy) Misekow of Clio, Sherry (Mark) Morris of Vassar, Julie (Kirk) Piar of National City, Thomas (Jill) Bentley of Maryville, TN; Great Grandchildren: Amber (Steve) Duggan, Alexandra (Christopher) Cunningham, Dallas Misekow, Max Misekow, Amy (Michael) Sherman, Grace Misekow, Kourtney Piar, Kyle (Karissa) Piar, Brenna Bentley and Matthew Bentley; Great Great Grandchildren: Molly and Ariel; several nieces and nephews.
