SPAULDING, Teddy – of Otisville, age 85, passed away on Monday, February 8, 2021 at McLaren Flint. Cremation has taken place and no services will be held at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be considered to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Teddy was born in Dry Branch, West Virginia on December 14, 1935, son of the late Fuller and Vivian (Roach) Spaulding. He joined the US Navy in 1953 and was stationed in Norfolk, Virginia sailing on the USS Boston. While in the Navy, Teddy crossed the Arctic Circle, making him a “blue nose”. Teddy came to Flint, Michigan in April of 1966 and began work at Chevy “in the hole”. He was a member of UAW Local #659. Teddy retired from General Motors in October of 1996. He enjoyed traveling, gardening and listening to music. He was a current member of the American Legion Post 321 of Otisville.
Teddy is survived by his children, David (Naomi) Spaulding and Lisa (Bryan) Wagner; PaPa Ted’s grandchildren, David Spaulding II, Curtis (Ashley) Spaulding, Amanda (Jason) Sparks, Cristy (Eric) La Jeunesse and Jerrid Wagner; great grandchildren, Caroline Spaulding and Sophia La Jeunesse; special friend, Amy White and many other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Stella; brother, Jerry; sister, Geraldine and niece, Linda.
