COMPTON, Gloria Marie, Age 91 of Fenton, passed away Friday, April 20, 2018. A Celebration of Life mass will be celebrated 11AM Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at St. John the Evangelist Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton. Father David Harvey celebrant. Burial to follow at St. John Cemetery, Fenton. The family will receive friends 4PM-8PM Tuesday, with a 7PM scripture service at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Visitation will also be held 10AM until time of mass at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Gloria was born June 14, 1926 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of the late Martin and Angeline (Loranger) Walsh. She married Bernard Compton on May 28,1949 in Flint. She was employed at Brides Etc. bridal salon and was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, Fenton. Gloria was a loving mother of seven, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed being a homemaker, seamstress and spending time with her family. She loved camping at Higgins Lake surrounded by her family and friends. She had a great sense of humor and she always had a smile on her face and a song in her heart! Gloria's strong Catholic faith, dedication, sacrifice and unwavering loyalty to her husband and family served as an example to those who knew her. Gloria was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Bernie, her parents and siblings. She is survived by her children, Gary (Connie) Compton of Fenton, Teresa (Al) Hanak of Fenton, Jim (Sheri) Compton of Rockford, MI, Bob (Karlie) Compton of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Diane (Curt) Hrabe of Highland Park, IL, Janice (Robert) Lisowski of Woodstock, IL and John Compton of Clarkston, MI; 14 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
