REED, Joyce Jane age 95, of Birch Run, passed away peacefully at home on November 29, 2023. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, December 7, 2023 at SS. Francis and Clare Catholic Church in Birch Run, Michigan. Rev. Fr. David Jenuwine and Rev. Fr. Thomas McNamara officiating. Burial in Birch Run Township Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Thursday, December 7, 2023 from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass at the church.
Joyce was born in Flint, Michigan, on October 1st, 1928 to parents Cecil and Viola Daly of Clio. Joyce was a graduate of Clio High School, where she was a cheerleader and played in the band. She married Russell D. Reed of Birch Run in 1947. Russell preceded her in death in 2010. Russ and Joyce were members of Ss. Francis and Clare Catholic Church in Birch Run, where they sang in the choir together for many years. Joyce loved singing and dancing, and was a tap-dancer in her youth.
Joyce is survived by son David (Diane) of Clio; daughter and loving live-in caretaker Jane Daniel of Raleigh, NC and Birch Run; and son Ronald (Shirley) of DeWitt, along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters, Carol Malloy of Clio and Jeanese Shonts of Indian Lake, and brother, Cecil Daly of San Luis Obispo, California. She was preceded in death by infant son Francis Gerald Reed, parents Cecil and Viola Daly, sisters Kathleen Dobbs and Donna Reed, and brother, Robert Daly.
