BENDALL, Arthur Lawrence - Of Grand Blanc, age 99, died Sunday, August 9, 2026 at Sheffield Bay Assisted Living in Bay City, Michigan.
Funeral service will be held 11am Thursday, August 13, 2026 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, 48507.
Visitation 5-7pm Wednesday, August 12, at the funeral home.
Pastor Joe Cottam of Faith Lutheran Church in Grand Blanc officiating.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Faith Lutheran Church or International Rett Syndrome Foundation.
Mr. Bendall was born in Flint, Michigan on August 25, 1926, the son of Robert and Selma Bendall, and was a resident of Grand Blanc most of his life. On June 17, 1950, he married Alma C. Flom in Flint and she preceded him in death on June 10, 2011. He attended Flint Central High School. He served in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific during World War II. Mr. Bendall was an assistant scoutmaster and very active in the Tall Pines Council Troop No. 368. He received The Silver Beaver Award. He was employed by General Motors Fisher Body 1 for 43 years, retiring in 1988.
Surviving are children, Rosemarie (Rich) Martone, Lawrence (Darlene) Bendall, Alice (Walter) Meyer;
11 grandchildren;
many great-grandchildren;
and many nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his son, Eric, 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
