CAREY, MARY - Of Swartz Creek, age 83, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 7, 2024 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Saginaw.
Funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, April 13, 2024 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Kevin Thoman officiating.
Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Trinity Baptist Church in Flushing.
Visitation 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2024 and 11 a.m. Saturday, April 13, 2024 until the time of the service at 12 p.m. at the Swartz Funeral Home, Flint.
Mary was born in Flint, Michigan on July 29, 1940, the daughter of
the late Robert and Daisy Carter.
On June 6,1958 she married Robert Carey and he preceded her in death on March 28, 2017.
Mary was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
Surviving are four children, Steve (Kim) Carey,
David (Donna) Carey,
Rebecca Carey and
Paul (Krysten) Carey;
grandchildren, Leah (Oscar) Gamboa,
Emily (Tim) King,
Ashley (Kile) Akins,
Melissa (David) Williams, Meagan (Greg) Foster,
Michael (Jessica) Carey, Jonathon (Alison) Carey and Christopher (Kate)Carey;
24 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, on March 28, 2017; both parents, Robert Franklin Carter and Daisy Lucille; her brother, James Robert Carter and sister, Nelda Jean Poore.
