JERNIGAN, DENNIS EUGENE- of Flushing, age 80, passed peacefully on Friday, September 4, 2026, at his residence.
Funeral service will be held at 11:30am on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, 2143 South Center Road, Burton, Father Matthew-Peter Butrie officiating.
Visitation will be held at 9:30am on Wednesday until the time of service at the church.
In lieu of flowers contribution may be made to St. Nicholas Orthodox Church.
Dennis was born on June 6, 1946, in Flint, Michigan, the son of the late Cletus and Betty (Klouchek) Jernigan.
He married Sharon Sheets on September 19,1964 in Flint, Michigan.
He attended St. Nicholas Orthodox Church.
Loving husband, father, and grandfather, proudly serving Genesee County for over 50 years practicing his craft of heating and air conditioning while with his wife Sharon raising two sons and grandson. He was a proud member of Saint Nicholas Orthodox Church, Burton, where - in addition to his faithful attendance at the divine services and decades of service on the parish council - his hands touched almost everything that needed maintenance or repair.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Jernigan; son, David (Melinda) Jernigan; grandson, Charlie Jernigan; sister-in-law, Carey Jernigan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Charles and brother Gerald.
