Dr. Tommy Sogbafai Stevens- Age 85, of Grand Blanc, passed away on June 25, 2026.
Funeral services will be held 1 PM Saturday, July 25, 2026 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Grand Blanc, Michigan 48507. Visitation will be held 5-8 PM Friday, July 24; and 12 PM until the time of the funeral at 1 PM Saturday July 25 at the funeral home.
Tommy was born in 1941 in Kpangbaya, Sierra Leone, to the late Thomas Julius Stevens and Sarah Flickinger. Dr. Stevens earned his medical degree from the University of Vermont. He completed his residency at St. Joseph Hospital in Flint, where he later ran the Emergency Room before working in his community as a family practitioner.
He was a high school soccer star, lifelong tennis and soccer fan, and a passionate golfer. His travels took him across the globe to six of the seven continents and included a memorable golf trip to St. Andrews in Scotland. He was the life of the party, always ready with a great joke, a love for music and a joy for dancing.
Tommy is survived by his wife of 44 years, Lorraine (Edelen); daughters, Andrea, Kendra, Boi-Tia and Simbiti; grandchildren, Andre and Amiyah; great-grandchildren, Elijah, Everly, Zaleel and Kahlil; and several close friends, relatives and colleagues.
He is preceded in death by his parents Thomas Julius Stevens and Sarah Flickinger; brothers Augustine and Daniel and his sister Fatmata Susan Tejan-Sie.
