Chargo, Albert Hugh - Age 85, Lennon, passed away May 15, 2026. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Friday, June 5, 2026, at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 4413 Morrish Rd., Swartz Creek, MI 48473 with Rev. Fr. Louis Ekka celebrant. The family will receive friends from 10 AM - 11 AM Friday, June 5, 2026, at the church. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to Disabled American Veterans (www.ihelpveterans.org) or St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church (www.smqa.net). Albert was born September 11, 1940, in Flint, Michigan, the son of John and Theresa (Zsigo) Chargo. He was a 1958 graduate of Owosso High School and married Nancy Hromek on April 11, 1964. Albert proudly served in the U.S. Army. He worked at GM Service Parts Operations for 37 years, retiring in 1997 as a forklift operator. He was a member of St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Dutch Hollow Golf Club, and a former member of the National Street Rod Association. Albert enjoyed golfing, biking, and running. He ran the Crim for over 20 years and completed several full marathons.. Surviving are: wife of 62 years, Nancy Chargo; two daughters, Jackie (Darrin) Plys and Kelly (Brian) Ponder-Elson; five grandchildren, Meghan (DJ) Stringer, Nicholas (Taylor) Plys, Tyler (Alexa) Plys, Alexis Ponder and Madison Ponder; two great-granddaughters, Sela and Lennon Plys; brother, Eugene (Vickie) Chargo; sisters-in-law, Jean Chargo and Beckie Chargo; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Theresa Chargo; two brothers, John and Daniel Chargo. Online condolences may be posted on the obituaries page of www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. |
