Martha Ann Krupp

Born: 9/8/1938
Died: 10/25/2015
Age: 77
Community: Montrose, MI

On September 8, 1938, Martha Ann Ebenhoeh and her twin Margaret Ann were born to Edward and Edith (Sutter) Ebenhoeh in the family farmhouse. “The twins” as they were known their whole lives, were the 13th and 14th of Edward and Edith’s children. The twins graduated from St. Michael’s High School in Maple Grove, Michigan in 1956 and married first cousins in 1959. Margaret married William (Bill) Krupp and Martha married Gordon Krupp. Gordon and Martha settled in Montrose, Michigan and raised six children: Laure, Paul (Pauline), Edith (Stephen) Bardzilowski, Heidi (Joshua) Gonzales, Kelly Splear, and Fr. Joseph Krupp, and then became grandparents to nine beloved grandchildren: Elizabeth, Michael, Brian, Emily, Stephen Jr., Benedict, Christopher, Samuel, and Katherine. Many others were welcomed into Gordon and Martha’s home as family. She leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and godchildren, and countless spiritual children. She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, her precious twin, and three brothers, Edward, Floyd (Irene), and Vince (Doris), and sisters Henrietta (LaVerne) Birkmeier, Marie (Sandy) Schnell, Eileen (Louis) Birkmeier, Grace (Dominic) Sherry. She is survived by her loving husband, Gordon, her children, her brothers Donald (Jean), Patrick (Judy), and Howard (Bonnie) Ebenhoeh and sisters Eleanor (Carl) Drexler, Jane (Daniel) Ruddy, and children of the heart, especially Fr. Geoff Rose, Abdul Al Buenain, Jesse Ortega, and Salvador Barba. Martha’s Catholic faith, and her life in Christ, were precious to her, and those loves took her all over the world as a pilgrim, and as a guide. For her, Jesus was as real as the air she breathed, and she embraced and lived the scripture, “Nothing is impossible with God.” She loved life, and believed that a life lived for God was a life well lived. Martha was an evangelist, and she mentored many evangelists to proclaim the Gospel. She had a special love for youth, and believed, and helped them believe, that God was calling them to change the world. Martha accomplished many things, some of which might be considered great things. But Martha would consider her greatest accomplishments are those lives now lived for Christ. This is her legacy of hope.

Martha was a member of Mt. Zion Pastoral Community, and her funeral Mass will be held there on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at 11 o’clock a.m. Visitation will be Wednesday 12-7 p.m. and Thursday 10-11 a.m. at the church. A rosary will be prayed Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
