ECKENROD (CAIRNDUFF), Janet – Of Swartz Creek, age 80, died Friday, June 7, 2019 at McLaren-Flint.
Funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at the Swartz Funeral Home ,1225 West Hill Road.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
Visitation 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Janet was born in Flint, Michigan on October 16, 1938, the daughter of James and Helen Cairnduff.
She graduated from Central High School in 1956.
She worked on co-op at Michigan Bell Telephone Company while still in high school.
Janet later worked almost 25 years at V-8 Powertrain-Flint engine Plant, retiring in 1997.
She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, playing bingo, shopping and going to the casino.
She leaves her daughter, Patricia (Michael) Kilburn;
She also leaves two grandchildren, McKayla Kilburn and Brandy (Rob) Byrd;
two great-grandchildren, Brayden and Kellan and many special friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Bob and Jack Cairnduff; daughter, Lynn Marie Eckenrod, who passed away at 17 years old; son, James Lewis Eckenrod, who passed away at age 48, both from cystic fibrosis.
Special thanks to 2 Central ACU at McLaren Hospital; especially Tammy and Kayleigh, who helped Janet and the family tremendously through this difficult and heart-breaking time.
We, also, would like to acknowledge Hyde Park and the care they provided; especially Tammy and LaTonya for always providing extra care, comfort and love.
