LANE, M. Madalyn – Of Flint, age 93, died Monday, September 22, 2014 at Genesys Regional Medical Center.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, September 26, 2014
at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Reverend Susan Kingsley officiating
Burial in Flint Memorial Park.
Those desiring may make contributions to Trinity United Methodist Church.
Visitation 12-8 p.m. Thursday and 11 a.m. Friday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday by the Eastern Star Ortonville Chapter #286 at the funeral home.
Madalyn was born in Dudley, Missouri on November 3, 1920, the daughter of the late Joseph and Leona (Powell) Smith and was a resident of the Flint area since the age of 14.
She married Elvis Clifford Lane and he preceded her in death on September 27, 1970.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Owosso for over 40 years.
She was a member of the Eastern Star Ortonville Chapter #286, O.E.S.
Her passion was to travel and was an avid walker, loved her family and reading.
Surviving are children, Shirley C. McFadden,
Joseph L. (Joanne) and
Noel W. (Kathy L.);
7 grandchildren, Lane Ann McFadden,
Bill (Cheryl) McFadden,
Brian (Anita) Lane,
Betty (Dan) Echlin, John J. Lane, Todd W. (Jennifer) Lane and
Tara L. (Mike) Griggs;
7 great-grandchildren;
one brother, Dallas Mossman;
many nieces, nephews and longtime friend, Arnold Leach.
She was preceded in death by son, Clifford “Woody”; grandson, Craig Lane; great-grandson, Michael Lane; sisters, Lila Cook and Audrey Cossaboom; brothers, Russell Mossman and Gerald Mossman.
