Jerry was born on January 10, 1946, in Flint, Michigan, to the late Gertrude Meyers and James Peterson.

Jerry graduated from Beecher High School in 1964 and soon after embarked on a beautiful journey with his beloved wife, Juanita Munsell, whom he married on April 22, 1964. Together, they built a lifetime of memories. Jerry took great pride in his work as a groundskeeper at Kettering University, where he nurtured the beauty of the campus while forming lasting friendships.

In his later years, Jerry met his natural siblings and extended family. Jerry was an enthusiastic member of the HAM radio community, sharing his passion through his call sign, K8RNY, and forging friendships that spanned far and wide. He had a keen interest in cars, often doting on his classic 1963 Chevy C-10 pickup truck, and took delight in attending local car shows.

His love for trains and fascination with ghost and UFO shows brought an adventurous spirit to his life, while his deep affection for Michigan kept him connected to the rich history and landscapes of his beloved state.
