LIPE, Kevin John – Of Grand Blanc, age 74, passed away Sunday, July 6, 2025.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 1pm Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1227 East Bristol Road, Burton.
Father Georges Bidzogo officiating.
Visitation 10am-1pm and 3-7pm Monday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Rosary will be prayed at 7pm Monday evening at the funeral home. Visitation 12noon Tuesday at church until the time of the Mass.
Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Cremation will take place following the Mass.
He was born on March 2, 1951, in Evart, Michigan. Kevin graduated from St. Michael’s Catholic High School and later earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan-Flint. A devout Christian, his faith was a cornerstone of his life.
Kevin married his loving wife, Patricia Lipe, on April 26, 1975. They shared 50 wonderful years together. They raised four children and were blessed with 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Kevin dedicated 42 years of his career as a welder and millwright at General Motors, where he was known for his strong work ethic, technical skill, and lasting friendships.
He enjoyed spending time outdoors, with hobbies that included hunting, fishing, camping, and other outdoor activities that brought him peace and created treasured memories with family and friends.
Kevin is survived by his loving wife Patricia; his children, Teresa Shoultes, Michelle (David) Burr, Damien (Kristy), and Kelly Shiffer (Adam Krejcarek); his siblings, Eddie (Pam), Mary (Jim) Allender, Anne (Robin), Becky Noffsinger, and Rita (Michael) Pando; his sisters-in-law, Judy Lipe, Teresa Lipe, and Mary Beth Lipe; as well as his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and dozens of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Angela Lipe; his brothers, Gary, Terry, and Kenny; and his brother-in-law, James Noffsinger.
