GROSSI, Silvino – of Clio, age 78, died Friday, November 16, 2018 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 1PM, Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Cremation to follow. Family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Monday from 2PM until 8PM and on Tuesday from 11AM until the time of service at 1PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Michigan – Amputee Coalition.
Silvino was born May 12, 1940 in Patrica, Italy to the late Augusto and Pasqualina (D’Alessandris) Grossi. He immigrated from Italy in 1960. Silvino married Lydia Diener on November 9, 1963 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Burton, Michigan. He worked for General Motors for 15 years. Silvino then established Silvio’s Italian Restaurant in 1975. He proudly owned and operated the restaurant for 35 years, until his retirement in 2010. Silvino was a member and officer of the Sons of Italy Lodge #861. He was also a past member and Chairman of the Downtown Development Authority in Clio. Silvino enjoyed gardening, fishing, cooking, and making wine. He also enjoyed birdwatching, traveling to Florida and playing bocce, and shuffleboard. Silvino was a talented woodworker and enjoyed building things. He especially loved his restored 1968 Camaro and spending time with his family.
Surviving are: Wife, Lydia Grossi; Children: Suzanne (Kavoos) Siavoshnia, Steven (Deborah) Grossi, Lisa (Shawn) Hearn, and Michelle (Ian) Hearn; Grandchildren: Nikolaus and Andrew Siavoshnia, William and Leah Hearn, and Ian Jr., Megan, Leo, and Cal Hearn.
