JAMES, Irene -- Age 89, of Burton, died September 12, 2018. Private services have been held. Arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Flint. Those desiring may make contributions to Charity of Ones Choice.
Irene was born January 31, 1929 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. She married Sylvester James and he preceded her in death on July 3, 2000. She spend a lot of time volunteering for convalescent homes and church activities. She was a member of the Church Fellowship for over 40 years and then Refuge Temple.
She is survived by her grandsons, Larry ( Pamela ) Owens, Keith Owens, Eric ( Karen) Owens, Anthony (Tara) Owens; granddaughter, Dawn (Brock) Herring; many great grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren; sister, Golena Lee; brother, Samuel " S.M." Owens, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Manuel Owens and Lenora Crowder; son, Larry Gene Owens Sr.; Larry's father, Elijah Johnson.
