Tera Lea Smith was born on April 18, 1949, in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Bobbie and Margaret Lynn. Tera, a woman of deep faith, gentle warmth, and unwavering kindness, passed away surrounded by love. Her life was shaped by her Christian upbringing, beginning with her years at a religious all-girls school and continuing through her graduation from Bentley. Her faith remained her foundation throughout her life, and she was a devoted member of Judson Church. She read her Bible daily, finding comfort and strength in its pages.

For the past 15 years, she was blessed with the compassionate care of the PACE caregivers, whom she cherished deeply. Their presence brought her joy, companionship, and dignity.

She spent many years working at the Meijer deli, where she became known for her friendly conversations and the way she made every customer feel welcome. She also loved her visits to Nehring’s grocery store, a simple routine that brought her happiness.

Creativity flowed naturally from her hands. She crocheted beautiful tablecloths, Christmas decorations, and handmade treasures that became keepsakes for those she loved. Christmas was her favorite time of year, and she poured her heart into every detail of the season.

Her home was always open, and she loved having company—talking, laughing, and sharing stories. Music filled her days, especially gospel radio, which never left her dial, and the voices of Celtic Thunder, one of her favorite groups.

She had a sweet tooth, a soft spot for simple pleasures, and an even softer spot for cats, whom she adored throughout her life.

She will be remembered for her faith, her kindness, her creativity, and the warmth she brought to everyone around her. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those who loved her.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving brother, Tracy Lynn; nieces Christine Davis and Brandy Harley; daughter, Elena Reimer; granddaughters Rachelle McClard and Brittany Hall, along with great nephews and great grandchildren.

Tera was preceded in death by her father, Bobbie Lynn; mother, Margret Lynn; son, James Smith; and brother Thomas Lynn.
