Ronald James Gilbert of Florida formerly of Flint, age 64 died Wednesday December 20, 2017 surrounded by his family. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm Saturday December 23, 2017 at Hansen Funeral Home Groves Chapel, Downtown Davison .Pastor Autumn Howard officiating. Family will receive visitors from 12:00 noon until time of services. Those desiring may make contributions in Ronald’s memory to his family. Ron was born in Flint Michigan on February 25 1953 the son of James & Ethel (Smith) Gilbert and has resided in Florida since 2006 spending most of his life in the Flint area. He was joined in marriage to Maureen Madden on August 23, 1974 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Flint. Ron had been employed for General Motors Truck & Bus Division and later had a career as a Master Plumber. He leaves to cherish his memory wife, Maureen, his children; Maureen & Dave Schroeder, Robb & Kristen Gilbert, and Richard & Shelly Gilbert. Also his loving grandchildren: Ryan, Ashley, Joe, and great grandchildren; Gabriel, Emma, Jaxon, and Jayce. Also surviving is his mother Ethel Gilbert, his sister Debra & Gilbert Rincon, brothers; Tim & Linda Gilbert, Tom Gilbert and a host of extended family. Ron will also be missed by his buddy “Josie” and his crew the “grand fur babies”. Ron was preceded in death by his father James Gilbert, brother Jim Gilbert, and sister Janette Day.
