Linda Joyce (Adams) Care- of Grand Blanc, age 79, passed away peacefully at home Saturday, May 23, surrounded by her children.
Funeral service will be held at 11:30am Friday, May 29, 2026, at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Reverend Gordon Taylor officiating.
Visitation will be held at 10am Friday until the time of service at the funeral home.
The family extends a special heartfelt thanks to Gordon Taylor, Tonie Gonzalez, Jeff and Sloane James, and Bruce Willoughby, who were there through everything.
Born December 16, 1946, in Manila, Arkansas, Linda was the second child of Lloyd and Rebecca Adams. She survived polio as a child and went on to graduate from Flint Southwestern in 1965. On November 22, 1968, she married her beloved Vincent Care at Sacred Heart in Flint, beginning a life together that would anchor her family for decades.
Linda worked as a head teller at Genesee Bank in Grand Blanc. At home, she was a wonderful cook who found joy in gardening, crocheting, reading, scrabble, and cards. Every winter, she and Vince traveled to their Arizona home, where she reigned as the perennial billiard champion. She loved Vince and her whole family with everything she had, worked with a happy heart to please everyone, and laughed until she cried. A tender, sweet, loving person who always helped others, she will be deeply missed.
For the last four years, Linda bravely faced a debilitating illness, and it took a crew of loving friends and family to help her through it.
Linda is survived by her children, David Vincent (Kathy) Care and Regina Ann Care; her loving granddaughters, Salina Diane (Robert) Towery, Sloane Rae James, and Anna Victoria and Lucia Santina Care; her beloved great-grandsons, Robert Lee Jr., Nohlan Izaac, and Ian Zander Towery; and her loving siblings, Randy Adams, Carolyn (Ali Zarrin) Adams, and Paula (Ted) Curry.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Vincent and her beloved parents, Lloyd and Rebecca Adams.
The funeral service will include a eulogy at 11:30 a.m. Following the service, the family invites all who knew Linda to join them for a luncheon at Warwick Country Club.
Linda will be laid to rest beside her husband Vincent, a veteran, at Great Lakes National Cemetery on Tuesday June 2, 2026, at 10:30am.
