It is with heavy hearts that we celebrate the life of Chris, a dedicated public servant, talented singer, and beloved community member who brought warmth, light, and protection to those around him. Chris was born in Flint, MI on June 24, 1971, son of the late David and Vera “Lynn” (Yorks) Arnold. A proud graduate of Davison High School Class of 1989, Chris spent his life in service to others. Whether delivering everyday connections through his long-standing work with the United States Postal Service or bravely putting his life on the line, Chris always gave himself fully to his community. For many years, he faithfully served as a firefighter with the Forest Twp. Fire Department—a duty he carried with honor, selflessness, and pride until his retirement.
Beyond his life of service, Chris possessed a vibrant spirit and a love for music that could lift any room. Known affectionately and widespread as “Fireman Chris” during his legendary karaoke performances, he shared his gift of song with a joyful enthusiasm that was truly contagious. Through every melody and performance, he created lasting memories, brought smiles to countless faces, and reminded everyone around him to find joy in life.
Chris’s steadfast commitment to helping others, paired with his unforgettable voice and warm presence, leaves behind a legacy that will be deeply missed and forever cherished by his family, friends, colleagues, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Chris is survived by his wife, Tracy Arnold; 6 children, Kari Lingerfelt, Jarrett Arnold, Dakota Arnold, Sierra Arnold, Nicolas Mayer and Tyler (Haleigh) Mayer; 4 grandchildren, Noah, Sage, Everett and Weston; 2 brothers, David Arnold Jr. and Todd (Tracy) Arnold; honorary sister, Michelle Brown; mother-in-law, Annette Langevin; sisters-in-law, Cathy (Jeff) Teed and Linda Langevin; brother-in-law, Chuck (Pennie) Langevin; pets, Shyann, Storm, Mufasa, Wilie and “not my cat”, Felix; many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dave and Lynn Arnold, father-in-law, Charles Langevin, brother-in-law, Joseph Langevin and faithful canine companion, Sarge.
