Lewis, Robert William of Flint, MI, age 73 passed away on July 23, 2021 at The Pines of Burton Memory Care in Burton MI with his wife by his side. Cremation has already taken place.
Military service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Great Lakes National Cemetery.
Memorial visitation will follow from 2 p.m. – 6 p.m., Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Central Church of the Nazarene, G-1261 West Bristol Road, Flint.
Those desiring may make contributions to the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan.
Robert was born in Flint, MI on 7/14/1948, the son of Bernard W. Lewis and Marie G. (Broadbent) Lewis. Robert attended and graduated from Holy Rosary in Flint. He enlisted in the Navy-USNR on 7/16/1969 and served his country proudly until his honorable discharge on 7/14/1974. He married Jeanette Robinson on June 8, 2007. He worked as a supervisor at Earl C. Smith for many years, also Chieftain Contract Services, Preston C Trade Service LLC, and Dayton Freight before retiring from Estes Express Lines in 2013. He loved to go golfing and was always ready to go when asked, even though he would say that he wasn’t very good at it. He was preceded in death by his parents Bernard and Marie (Broadbent) Lewis; brother, Matthew Lewis and 1 step-grandchild. Surviving are wife; Jeanette (Robinson) Lewis, children; Kevin (Leasha) Lewis of Flushing and Chris Drenth (Dan Arseneault) of Flint, step-sons Dereck (Joy) Palecki of Croswell MI and Matthew (Andrea) Robinson of Byhalia MS, 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren., and many nieces and nephews. Surviving siblings are Phillip (Olivia) of Fenton, Stephen (Judy) of Gladwin, Kathy (Hough) of Tampa, FL, and Barbara (Mike) Goodhue of Flint, MI.
