Margaret G. Gehbauer 89, of Davenport, died Friday December 31, 2010 at the Good Samaritan Home in Davenport. Per her request, cremation rites were accorded. The Runge Mortuary assisted her family. Inurnment will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island.
Margaret was born December 7, 1921 in Davenport, the daughter of Byron Sherman and Estella (Russett) (Sherman) Johnson. She married Raymond Gehbauer on October 10, 1941 in Davenport. He preceded her in death.
Margaret owned and operated Margray’s Ceramics Studio in Davenport. After her retirement she enjoyed traveling and for many years lived part-time in Apache Junction, AZ
Her memberships included: The Promenaders, Pilot Club, St. Paul Lutheran Church, Mississippi Valley Ceramics, Ladies of the Moose, Plus 60 Club, and the National Ceramics Association, where she served a term as president.
Those left to honor her memory include her grandchildren, Roxane Fenton, Altadena, CA and Robert J. Fenton, Lincoln, NE, as well as her partner Wayne Gesell, Long Grove, IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Raymond, and her daughter Carole Lea Fenton.
