Chuck was born in Flint, MI on September 19, 1942, son of the late Charles “Charlie” Alexander and Muriel Grace (Pullen) Ferguson. He was a graduate of Mount Morris High School, the “Round School”, Class of 1960. After graduation, Chuck attended Flint Junior College. On April 4, 1975, Chuck married Carol Sheridan at Trinity Lutheran Church in Davison, MI. After they married, Chuck and Carol bought his family home in Mount Morris, which is where they raised their family. Chuck served as Alderman on the Mount Morris City Council for 22 years from 1969-1990. Then, from 1990-1991, Chuck served as the mayor of Mount Morris, MI. He was a member of the Mount Morris Jaycees and on a special committee for the Mount Morris School District, where Chuck came up with their motto “Learning for a Lifetime”. Chuck retired from Saginaw Supermarket in 2016 after more than 20 years of service. He had many interests, but one was celebrated in the Fall on October 31 (Halloween), when Chuck became “The Monster on Walter Street”. Many moms, children and older youths met “The Monster” with screams. He loved to go camping and greatly enjoyed earning overnight free rooms at casinos. Chuck also enjoyed working on The Detroit News daily crossword puzzles and his favorite show was Jeopardy. He was also a very vocal Detroit Tigers fan. Chuck was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was the church recording secretary, recording all the church meetings, for over 40 years.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Carol Ferguson; 2 sons, Matthew Charles Ferguson and Brian Joseph Ferguson; 1 granddaughter, Mikayla Paije Ferguson; 3 brothers, Paul Ferguson, Bruce Ferguson and Robert Ferguson; sister-in-law, Karen Ferguson; step-mother-in-law, Doris Sheridan; many other loving nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Alexander “Charlie” and Muriel Grace Ferguson; 2 sisters, Patricia (Dan) Rice and Michele Ferguson.

Chuck will be greatly missed by all the people at his favorite gas station, where he was affectionately called “Grumps”. He was also known as the “Old Man” and “Grumps” by his granddaughter, Mikayla.

God, he will be missed by many, but at the beginning of this journey, I put him completely in your hands. God, you blessed us by taking him home and someday I will see him again.
