SCOTT, Rita Kay (Temple) – of Davison, MI, age 78, passed away Thursday, November 7, 2019 with her family by her side. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Monday, November 11, 2019 at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 5073 Daly Boulevard, Flint, MI 48506; Pastor Gary Beck officiating. Interment immediately following the service in Davison Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 10-11 AM Monday, November 11, 2019 at St. Mark Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark Lutheran Church, in Rita’s memory.
Rita was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa on August 19, 1941, daughter of the late Harry and Gladys (George) Temple. She graduated from high school in 1959. After graduation, Rita attended the Northwest Institute and became a medical laboratory technologist. While attending school, she met William Scott and they were married in July 1963. Shortly after their marriage, they moved to Flint, MI and Rita worked at various positions in the area. The family moved to Davison, MI in 1964. Rita’s passion was counted cross stitch and her family was blessed with her creations for births and weddings. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.
Rita is survived by her husband of 56 years, William Scott of Davison, MI; son, David (Vicky) Scott of Big Rapids, MI; 2 grandsons, Andrew Scott and Jeremy Scott; brother, John Temple of St. Charles, MO; many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Gladys Temple; infant daughter and brother, Evan Temple.
