VAN EVERY, Robert James, Jr- Of Flint, age 84, died Sunday, May 13, 2018 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 17, 2018 at the Lamb of God Lutheran Church, 2051 West Maple Avenue, Flint, Pastor Paul Boerger officiating.
Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery.
Visitation 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Mr. Van Every will be at the church from 10 a.m. Thursday until the time of the service.
Robert was born in Flint, Michigan on February 23, 1934, the son of Robert and Madeline (Trecha) Van Every.
On July 23, 1960, he married Lydia Mae Pecena in Flint.
He was a member of Lamb of God Lutheran Church.
Mr. Van Every served in the U.S. Navy, first four years as a Radioman on the U.S.S. Virgo.
The remaining years were spent in sales starting at Nabisco, then moving into medical sales at Pfizer, to C.W. Mosby, and to W.B. Saunders selling medical reference books.
Robert loved his family and his Scottish and Czechoslovakian heritage. He loved a good laugh, polka dancing, being up north at his cottage; and most of all, his grandson, Josh.
Surviving are wife, Lydia Mae(Pecena) Van Every;
son, Robert James Van Every, III;
daughter, Stacey (Van Every) Meade;
grandson, Joshua Donald Meade.
