William Frederick "Bill" Moritz, a steadfast pillar of his community and a man of unwavering faith, completed his earthly journey and entered into eternal rest on September 11, 2025. Born on December 19, 1938, Bill's life was a testament to the virtues of love, dedication, and service.
Bill's early years were spent in the nurturing care of his parents, Wilhelm and Adeline, who preceded him in death. He graduated from Lakeville High School in 1957, setting the stage for a life marked by hard work and commitment. On October 11, 1958, Bill married his high school sweetheart, Carol in Columbiaville, embarking on a remarkable journey of love and partnership that would span nearly seven decades.
Together, Bill and Carol welcomed two children into the world, Kelly, married to David Aiken, and Kevin, married to Sharon Moritz. Bill's legacy expanded with the joy of four grandchildren, Kyle (Marina), Joshua (Darsey), Kristin (Tim), and Alyssa (Nick), and further blossomed with the arrival of four great-grandchildren, Cooper, McKenzie, Maxwell, and Henry. His sister, Charlotte Clark, also survives him, carrying forward the memories of their shared childhood.
Professionally, Bill was the proud owner and operator of Mortiz All Season Heating and Cooling, from which he retired in the mid-2000s. His work ethic and integrity were cornerstones of his business, earning him the respect and trust of the community he served.
Bill's commitment to his faith was evident in his active role as an Elder at St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Otisville. His deep Christian beliefs were the guiding force in his life, and he lived each day as a reflection of Christ's love. Bill's faith-filled presence was a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew him.
An avid outdoorsman, Bill found solace and joy in the beauty of God's creation. He cherished the times spent fishing, hunting, and snowmobiling in his younger years, and later, tending to his garden with a gentle and nurturing hand. These activities were not only hobbies but also expressions of his love for the natural world.
Bill was a man of many virtues, but above all, he was loving, faith-filled, and handy. His ability to fix and create was not limited to the physical; he also had a remarkable talent for mending hearts and lifting spirits. His warm smile, generous spirit, and wise counsel will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
