MORRIS, Daniel Oscar – of Eaton Rapids, Michigan, age 77, passed away on May 25, 2026. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held 1 PM Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, Michigan, 48423; Joshua and Steve Morris officiating. Military Honors to be performed immediately following the service at Davison Cemetery. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service on Wednesday, beginning at noon. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Dan was born on December 13, 1948, in Flint, Michigan, the son of Robert and Clara (Robison) Morris. He was raised in Davison and graduated with the Class of 1967. Shortly after graduation, Dan married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Linn (Morrill) Morris, in 1968, beginning a devoted partnership that spanned 58 years. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He worked many jobs and had many talents and then found his place with the IBEW Local 1106 where he served as Business Manager. Outside of providing for his family and his hard work, his main passions were his gardening, woodworking, and bridge inspecting. He was famous for the extended “Morris goodbyes.” He also enjoyed learning about history, researching family ancestry, and he always welcomed a debate. More than anything, Dan loved spending time with friends and family, making people laugh and smile, especially hearing the giggles of his grandkids.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Bobby Morris. He is survived by his beloved wife, Linn Morris; children, Holly Morris, Laura Morris, and Bob Morris; grandchildren, Tasha Nelson and Devin (Lindsay) Nelson; great-granddaughter, Luna; brothers, Steven (Debbie) Morris and Mike (Karen) Morris; sister, Susan (Dolf) Veit; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss him greatly.
